120 years: UPPC to comemorate historical milestone

Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation(UPPC) is set to celebrate 120 years of service to both Public and Private sectors.

The Corporation which prints and publishes all government laws and public legal notices in the weekly government newspaper, The Gazette will this Friday unveil the activities for its 120 years celebrations.

The unveiling ceremony will take place at Golf Course Hotel in the capital Kampala where Minister for Presidency, Milly Babalanda is expected to be the chief guest.

According to Kenneth Oluka who is the Corporation’s acting Managing Director the celebration is an important milestone in the history of Uganda.

Oluka furthermore contends that the celebration is a unique opportunity for UPPC to celebrate distinguished service to the country and showcase a unique history.

“We want to showcase our history by holding exhibitions through which we will show the evolution of printing in the country. We will show the equipment that we have used for printing over the past century. We invite the public to come to see and learn this history” Oluka said.

The oldest printing and publishing entity in the land is set to publish a souvenir magazine, organise a walk, exhibitions and host industrial institutions of learning as some of the activities to commemorate their journey so far.
