176 NWSC staff members complete Patriotism course

The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) last week Wednesday awarded their outstanding staff at the fifth pass-out ceremony following a 3-week induction training geared towards promoting patriotism and fostering team cohesion.

A total of 176 members of staff passed out on this ceremony joining another 915 that have received the same training.

The training was conducted in close partnership with the Uganda People’s Defense Forces under the office of the president. This was because the army has a lot of tactics that were of more importance to the workers.

As part of a government initiative, NWSC embraced the program with the aim of promoting patriotism and introducing staff to the challenges the country has gone through before and after independence.

In a three weeks time , Staff including Commercial assistants, Legal Officers, Commercial officers, Engineers, Finance and Accounts Officers, and some branch Managers have successfully completed their induction program that was in Scripture union campsite Bwerenga.

“However much everything is as planned, the National Water and Sewerage Corporation is worried about some of the government organizations that have failed to pay for the water services they have been provided with thus it has slowed down the cooperation work. Said Dr. Silver Mugisha. We have though managed to get experts that will help trace the lost funds.” he added.

Engineer Mahmood Lutaaya, General Manager Kampala water added that 29 billion has caused the delay in the work sector since a number of people being demanded is high than expected.

The course registered success and introduced many to their country and the challenges that the country has gone through before and currently.
”These awards are very important to us because we are motivated to work harder, you never know it might come with promotions”. Said one of the winners of the award.”
Now I know why imperialism is dangerous towards the development of my country and I am now ready to defend my country when the need arises which the case before coming for this wasn’t training,”
said one of NWSC staff who underwent the training.

Currently the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) is a public utility company 100% owned by the Government of Uganda.

The NWSC has awarded the outstanding staff at the pass-out after a 3-week induction training which was in for promotion of patriotism with over one thousand workers all together . This has been the 5th time ever since the National water and sewerage cooperation embarked on training their workers.

The objective of this training was centered on training people in patriotism and knowing the country they live in and the challenges they face.
