Police in Kisoro district are hunting for an unknown assailant for murdering a 48-year-old-man.
The deceased has been identified as Ndiyunguye Richard a resident of Butaha village in Kitendere parish, Nyarusiza sub-county in Kisoro district.
According to Elly Mate the Kigezi region police spokesperson, the incident was reported by Niringiye Edward 27, a bodaboda rider, resident of Butaha village, Kitendere parish, Nyarusiza sub-county in Kisoro district.
Mate revealed that the deceased left his home on Thursday this week at about 08:30am for work and his body has been found lying in the foot path 100 meters away from his home on Friday morning.
He added that the scene has been visited and examined using a canine but no positive results have been yielded since the scene had already been tampered with.
Maate furthermore indicated that they have arrested a one Mbonigaba Robert to aid in investigations. The deceased’s wife alleges that Mbonigaba had threatened him a week back and the community had begun attacking him.
Ndiyinguye’s body has been taken to Kisoro hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
The case of murder has been registered at Kisoro central police under reference number CRB 427/2022.
