The Kampala Capital City Hall Magistrates Court has remanded a 62-year-old man for defiling his own three daughters and infecting them with HIV/AIDS.
The Court presided over by Grade one magistrate Jane Tibagonzeka sent Muhammudu Iddi Zingo to Luzira Prison’s remand home until 26th April 2023.
Zingo a resident of Namuli cell in Bukoto, Kampala is facing charges of aggravated rape.
It is alleged that Zingo conducted explicit sexual acts on his children between March 2020 and 2022 well knowing that he is HIV positive.
Tibagonzeka informed the suspect that only the High Court has the jurisdiction to hear the charges and as well grant him bail if he so wishes to apply for it.
Zingo faces the maximum sentence of death if found guilty of the charges per the penal code act.
According to the Police annual crime report of 2022 released last month, defilement cases dropped from 10,653 in 2021to 8960.
