Buddu registered a 1-0 narrow win against hardworking Butambala while Buwekula run riot against Buwekula in a 5-1 encounter in the 2021 Masaza Cup at Njeru on Wednesday.
Butambala nearly took the lead in the 33rd minute thanks to Edward Owaching’s personal brilliance past a number of bodies but his effort waved past the mouth of the goal.
Buddu took the lead in the 70th minute through Bruno Bunyanga whose went beyond Butambala’s goalie Henry Mbabaali who hurried off the line.
By the end of the game that started at noon, Buddu had taken temporary lead on the log of the Muganzirwaza group.
In the other game, talisman Ismail Tamubula was on fine form scoring the first hatrick of the tournament.
Tamubula was on the target for Buwekula’s opener in the 34th minute after the side had taken control of the game in the first 30 minutes of the game.
Just after two minutes, Isaac Musiima made it two which was evidence that Bussujju’s defence had loosened thanks to the continuous attack from Buwekula’s attack force.
Abdul Nsereko sinked Busujju further with the third for Buwekula before Ivan Kaweesi found a consolation for Busujju right from the spot.
Tamubula completed a second half brace having scored in the 82nd minute before he hit the last nail in the coffin in the 92nd minute of the game.
Action continues tomorrow as Butambala play against Mawogola while roving Buwekula will face Buddu to see off who keeps at the top of the log.
