Masaza Cup 2021: No wins on day 2 of Muganzirwaza group

Only stalemates registered on the second day of the Muganzirwaza group of the prestigious Masaza Cup tournament.

In the openet of the day, Butambala, Mawogola shared points in a one-all draw at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru on Thursday.

Stylish forward, Isaiah Sabiiti placed the ball at the back of the net from a fine assist to give Mawogola an early lead in the seventh minute.

Minutes later Buwekula responded in attack as they searched for an instant leveller but Mawogola’s defenses were intact.

In the 26th minute, Butambala came in emphatically with an equaliser through Blancher Mulumba.

In the second encounter of the day, Buwekula lost the lead twice in a 2-2 draw against Buddu in the second game of the day at Njeru.

Agile forward Isaac Musiima made no mistake converting a crucial 12-yard spot kick to give Buwekula the lead.

Just 11 minutes later, Buddu equalised through Bruno Bunyaga who took the game back to level terms.

By halftime, both sides were presented with clear chances to take the lead but none was clinical enough to seal the encounter.

With 15 minutes to the death of the game, Musiima scored the second to give Buwekula the lead but it lasted for three minutes before Edward Namasa levelled it up.

By the end of the business, Buwekula maintained its position at the top with four points levelled with Buddu who have three goals less.

Mawogola comes third with a point levelled with Butambala who have a negative goal difference while Busujju lies at the bottom with no point.

The ongoing tournament will take a break on Friday and action returns on Saturday, December 4 as Buddu takes on Busujju at noon while Mawogola will play Buwekula at 3 pm.
