Taggy Girls stun Entebbe City Queens in an exhibition match

Taggy Girls Football Club was in spirited form as they thumped Entebbe City Queens Football Club 9-1 in a friendly game on Sunday.

In the opening minutes of the match, Taggy exhibited signs that they were not going to relent, scoring 3 goals in less than 10 minutes and forcing multiple saves from the Queens’ custodian.

Taggy’s versatile midfielder, Bridget Makati was able to clinch a hat-trick and turning provider for her teammates.

Charity Katusiime was able to pick up a hat-trick and Sherina Nantongo joined the party with a brace, Prossy Basemera also scored a ninth of the day.

The visitors were able to recoup at least a consolation goal through Anita Namata in the second Stanza of the game.

However, the host Tactician Ayub Asiimwe revealed that there is still much more work to be done by the “girls.”

“It was such an intense game, we were able to get a few things right, I believe we need more friendly games to set ourselves running. The girls did their part to kill off the game early against such a good opponent,” Asiimwe said

“As we prep for Entebbe City Women’s Football Championship, there are areas that we need to work on as a group. Hopefully, we can achieve that before then.” Asiimwe explained

Taggh Girls Football Club is expected to take part in the Entebbe City Women Football Championship slated for 19th and 20th December, 2021.

A total of 16 women’s teams in and around Entebbe will take part in the two-day event at select grounds in Entebbe.
