The World Bank Organization under its implementation support mission will assess the status of the project implementation and progress towards achieving the Agriculture Cluster Development Project (ACDP).
This was revealed on Monday 8th during the overall project performance engagement by the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) and the World Bank officials at the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort in Kampala.
The process will involve a three days field visit from Wednesday 10th – 12th to districts of Bugweri, Mbale, and Kumi as well as drafting the Aide Memoire, presenting mission findings and recommendations to the Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) by the world bank team.
It will also assess the overall implementation of planned activities by components including key achievements against set targets and overall results framework.
According to Joseph Oryokot, the Senior Agriculture Specialist at the World Bank, the field visits to selected districts and sites will ascertain the status of implementation on the ground, including conducting consultations with various stakeholders to assess progress.
“Specific attention will be given to the implementation of the matching grants investments, completion of various contracted civil works related to road chokes and the National Seed Laboratory, small-scale irrigation schemes, and roll-out of the developed information and technology tools,” he said.
He also noted that as a team, they will also discuss with the government the progress toward ACDP closure and implementation completion requirements.
