SUPL: Express targets victory as they visit depleted Tooro United

Express FC will return to league action with an away trip to Fort Portal as they face Tooro United on Tuesday January 4th at the Buhinga stadium.

Wasswa Bbosa’s charges are hoping to pick up their first away win of the season in the new year and also keep their 11 game unbeaten run intact.

“We’ve been preparing well ahead of Tuesday’s away game to Tooro United. Contrary to what many think, Tooro are a stubborn side and we have to work extra hard to earn maximum points,” Bbosa said.

“We know they’re on an awful run but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be a one sides game, we’re here to get maximum points to close the gap at the top of the table,” he added.

Arthur Kiggundu and Abel Etrude remain long term absentees for Express FC while Ivan Mayanja, Nicolas Kasozi and Yaya Mahad Kakooza also miss out on the trip due to various illnesses.

Meanwhile, Issa Lumu returns to the squad after serving his suspension.

This will be the seventh meeting between both sides across all competitions with the Red Eagles managing four wins compared to Tooro United’s two.

The Red Eagles are on an unbeaten run of 10 league games, two games away from breaking their own record last season of 12 unbeaten games.

Bottom of the log Tooro United are winless in their last five outings conceding 18 goals in the process.

Tooro United have failed to win any game in their previous 10 games while Express FC have managed five wins and five draws in their previous 10 encounters.
