AFCON 2021: Da Rosa disappointed with Mauritania’s early exit

Mauritania national team head coach Didier Gomez Da Rosa was left disappointed by his side’s early exit of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations following a 4-0 loss against Tunisia.

Tunisia bounced back from their controversial opening defeat by brushing aside Mauritania in Group F.

Wahbi Khazri scored twice while Hamza Mathlouthi and Seifeddine Jaziri scored the other two goals at Limbe Stadium on Sunday.

According to Da Rosa it’s a very big disappointment for them.

“We made a very bad start, too much technical waste. It’s shameful, very disappointed with the content, the way,” Da Rosa said after the game.

“We wanted to make the country proud, that’s the disappointment. We created some opportunities. We revolted but timidly,” he added.

Tunisia will face the Gambians in their final group match on Friday while back-to-back defeats mean Mauritania can no longer reach the last 16.
