Uganda Cup: Police’s Mubiru elated with Bushenyi Veterans’ exhibit

Police FC head coach, Abdallah Mubiru has slapped Bushenyi Veterans with huge amounts of praise for their show in a game that was won by the Cops at Bushenyi main stadium on Thursday.

Mubiru’s charges registered a 1-0 narrow win against Bushenyi Veterans to emerge a slot in the last 32 of the ongoing tournament.

“I am so impressed with the performance of the hosts (Bushenyi Veterans),” Mubiru revealed shortly after the game.

“We managed the game’s tempo well though the creation rate was low. I must commend the hosts who were calm on the ball and organised from the start,” he added.

Fahad Kizito gave the visiting team the lead as early as the ninth minute which looked like a perfect start for the Cops but as the game grew both sides shared possession.

“The hosts were organised and it was visible they had prepared well before the game. They have been eliminated but I will be glad to say they lost while fighting.”

“However I am happy that we have qualified to the next round and we shall welcome any team that will land our way. We shall continue training so that we get better as a squad,” he concluded.

Police joins the likes of Gaddafi FC, Rusekere Growers, Booma, Wakiso Giants, Tepa, and Kajjansi United who qualified to the next level.
