SUPL: Manzoki scores two as Vipers humble Villa at Kitende

Cesear Manzoki scored a second half brace as Vipers registered a 3-0 victory against Villa in the Star Times Uganda Premier League at Kitende on Wednesday.

Yunus Sentamu found the back of the net after four minutes of play with a great tap in off Milton Karisa’s cut back in the area.

Minutes later SC Villa tried to reply with a quick attack ignited by Salim Abdallah but Sadam Masereka’s powerful finish parried over the cross bar.

Vipers’ chemistry was back at work with short quick passed from Milton Karisa and Sentamu but Bright Anukani’s finish went off target by inches.

In the second stanza, Karisa found himself with acres of space but his tap in from the area missed to hit the target.

Fifteen minutes into the second stanza, Cesar Manzoki finished a powerful low effort into the back of the net to extend Vipers’ lead.

In the 67th minute, Manzoki jumped highest to nod home Anukani’s corner kick which seemed to be the last nail in the coffin.

The moment of happiness came as late as the 82nd minute when Frank Zaga Tumwesigye was welcomed by the home crowd after replacing Najib Yiga.

However Manzoki limped off the pitch due to an injury and the Vipers faithful will keep their ears open to know how much the injury affected the talisman.

The result sends Vipers on the top of the log with 33 points after 15 games while SC Villa sits eleventh with 15 points.
