Maroons came from a goal down to register a 3-1 emphatic win against Ndejje University in the FUFA Big League at Arena of Visions, Ndejje on Thursday.
William Kiibi, Fred Amaku and Norman Odipio’s goals were enough to whitewash George Akena’s early opener to scoop all the three points.
In the fourth minute, Solomon Akodi laid an inch-perfect freekick into the dangerous area and towering George Akena directed it in the back of the net with a powerful header.
Two minutes past half and hour mark, Ndejje University nearly extended the lead but Frederick Mayindi’s we’ll curled effort went over the cross bar.
With a minute to play in the first stanza, Fred Amaku laid a sweat low pass at the ark of the box and Norman Odipio nicely placed it at the far post to beat Ndejje’s custodian Jean Braddy Wokorach.
Three minutes into the second stanza, earlier provider in Amaku placed his name on the scoring sheet to give Maroons the lead.
In the 74th minute, Hamim Semakula brought a well curled freekick from the left wing but Joseph Ayebare noted wide from close range.
In the added time, Solomon Walusimbi’s heroics saw him best a number of defenders before William Kiibi placed the ball into the back of the net to seal the emphatic win.
