Express FC interim coach James Odoch was left hopeful of his charges after staging a fighting spirit in an encounter they drew with Gaddafi.
Express FC managed a point away to Gaddafi FC following a 1-1 draw on Tuesday afternoon at the Gaddafi arena in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
Winger Paul Musamali scored for the hosts while substitute Charles Musiige scored for the Red Eagles.
According to Odoch, his players kept the focus and managed to secure a point in the end.
“I am happy the boys kept the focus on,” Odoch revelled.
“Like I had said playing Gaddafi away was always going to be tough, their record at home is great and we conceded early.”
“We managed to score and level the game, we have a lot we have learnt so we shall do better next time,” he concluded.
In the same spirit, midfielder Abel Etrude thanked his teammates for putting up the required fight despite starting the game on the low.
“I want to appreciate the boys who gave everything and levelled matters,” Etrude said before adding; We played Gaddafi FC but it was not an easy game, we started out low but grew into the game, we are going back to correct our mistakes and do better.”
The draw took the Red Eagles to 31 points after 20 match days, their next game will be played at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku as they play against URA FC on March 18, 2022.
