The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) on Wednesday confirmed an incident involving a Rwanda Air CRJ 9 aircraft, flight number 464 that veered off the runway at Entebbe International Airport.
The incident happened at 5:31 am. according to UCAA was due to bad weather. However, the Authority has ascertained that “all passengers were disembarked safely.”
The Authority has confirmed that the situation is “under control” and endeavors are underway to have the aircraft removed from the main runway.
Meanwhile, an alternative runway 12/30 is operational for small and light aircraft.
The airliner also took to Twitter to confirm the safety of the passengers.
“RwandAir flight WB464 upon landing at Entebbe International Airport early this morning, was involved in a runway excursion as a result of bad weather.All passengers and flight crew deplaned safely with no reported injuries.”
