Several traders are counting losses after a canal boat (Kinara) capsized with all its cargo between Misenyi and Lukuba landing sites in Kyamuswa Subcounty, Kalangala District on Wednesday.
Police on Thursday 05th May 2022 confirmed all 10 passengers are safe and well.
Cargo worth millions of shillings loaded from Kasenyi Landingsite destined for Kisaba Island was lost.
A report vide SD REF:04/05/05/2022 at Kisaba Police Station by the boat manager, Badru Hamba and coxswain, John Bogere.
The accident is said to have happened at 9oclock.The incident has been blamed on bad weather.
According to Hamba the engine propeller was trapped by fishing nets making it prone to the strong winds.
