UCC to submit Evidence in Bugingo-Makula case

Entebbe Chief Magistrate Court will hear prosecution evidence in the case against city-pastor Aloysious Bugingo and his fiancee Suzan Makula Nantaba.

Bugingo is charged with bigamy and contracting marriage by customary law while already married to his wife Teddy Naluswa Bugingo under the marriage act. Nantaba is charged with contracting marriage with Bugingo well aware that he is legally married to another woman.

Bugingo and Naluswa got married on December 20, 2003 certificate number 376 at Victory Christian Centre. However, without a formal dissolution of their marriage, he allegedly married Makula under customary law on December 7 2021, in Kawuku, Katabi town council in Wakiso district.

Prosecution led by jailed lawyer Male Mabirizi and his counterpart Robert Lutalo on Thursday May 26th 2022 tendered in a list of 20 witnesses for the trial including Uganda Communications Commission(UCC).

The evidence from UCC will rely on televised shows and news bulletins confirming the traditional wedding of the couple.

Her Worship Stella Okwong Paculal the presiding judge in the matter set June 20th 2022 to start hearing prosecution testimonies.
