Drama filled Heroes stadium in Zambia’s capital Lusaka after the Zambian fans invaded the pitch celebrating their 2-1 over on Tuesday in Group H of TotalEnergies Afcon 2023 qualifiers.
The Zambian supporters who have for so long desired to see a better performance from their team which has recently not had a good performance didn’t know how to express their joy.
Zambia last qualified for the 2015 AFCON and since then the country has failed to qualify for the next three consecutive Afcon tournaments.
The fans who invaded the pitch however destroyed some equipments during celebrations.
Despite Comoros’ resilience,Zambia was able to claim three points thanks to Kings kangwa’s 88th minute which kissed the net victory for the kipolopolo.
The win meant that Zambia levelled points with Comoros and Cote D’Ivoire on three points in Group H.
The team will face Lesotho in the next round of Group H come September.
