WAFCON 2022: Lutalo drops Nalukenge, six others

FUFA has confirmed coach George Lutalo the head coach of the crested cranes has selected his final squad for the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Cyprus based forward Juliet Nalukenge is among the seven players that have ben dropped .

Other players include Shadia Nankya Natasha Shiraz, Biira Nadunga, Grace Aluka and Samalie Nakachwa Hadijjah Nalongocould all not cope with the competition in the camp.

They join the list of players who were trimmed off immediately after winning the maiden CECAFA senior women’s cup Viola Namuddu, Harima Kanyago, Miriam Ibunyu, Naome Nagadya, Resty Nanziri and Juliet Adeke.

The other foreign-based players will meet up with the team in Morocco.

The team is expected to travel to Morocco on Tuesday where they’ll have a friendly on Saturday with Feminine phoenix a club in the morrocan league

The Crested cranes are in group A along side hosts Algeria, Senegal and Burkina Faso as they will see their first game in AWCON on July against Senegal.
