FUFA pays UGX 210M bonus to CECAFA women’s winning team

The Uganda football governing body, FUFA has paid bonuses to Crested Cranes players for winning the CECAFA Seniors Women’sChampionship.

The bonus of UGX 5 million has been paid to all members of the squad including the team officials as a fulfillment of a promise made by the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among after the Crested Cranes emerged winners.

On the final, Uganda registered a 3-1 victory over Burundi courtesy of Fazila Ikwaput’s double and Sandra Nabweteme’s lone goal to win their maiden CECAFA senior women’s cup.

According to FUFA,31 players and 11 team officials have been given bonuses.

The crested cranes who are now in camp are expected to travel to Morocco today for more preparations for the 2022 WAFCON which will kickstart on 2nd July in Morocco.

The team is set to have a friendly with Feminine phoenix a club in the morrocan league on 25th this Saturday as they prepare more for the tournament.
