Police to Erect 90 Uniports in Kisoro District

In a bid to reduce crime in Kisoro district, Uganda Police is set to erect about 90 police uniports in different areas in the district.

Areas that shall be given priority include Nyabwishenya, Muramba, Murora and Nkuringo town council.

According to the Kisoro district police commander Richard Musisi Uganda police force have already procured contractors and have asked sub county leadership to allocate them public land for erecting uniports.

Musisi indicated that at least each sub county should get 10 uniports to enable police personnel be nearer to people and strengthen efforts against crimes.

Kisoro RDC Hajji Shafiq Ssekandi called upon sub county councils to identify land and write to the DPC requesting for the establishment of the police uniports.

He revealed that Kisoro district being at border of two countries requires police services nearer to people.
