The Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) has joined the drive to rebuild Entebbe Archdeaconry headquarters located in Entebbe Municipality, Wakiso District ahead of their 35 year Coral Celebrations.
The national printing agency donated a total of 100 bags of cement towards the facelift of St. Marks Church of Uganda, Namate.
UPPC’s Managing Director, Kenneth Oluka while handing over the donation at the Entebbe Regional Police last week said they will be looking at strengthening ties with the Church. This was during the inaugural service to mark the institution of a weekly Prayer Fellowship at the Police Station.
According to Oluka, the donation is a way to say thank you to God as they celebrate 120 years of service. “It is the right thing to say thank you to God, because we are because of him,
“As the church is preparing to celebrate 35 years, we felt it was important to identify with them. We decided to support the construction work ahead of the celebration.” Oluka said.
Oluka also pledged that UPPC will continue to support activities of the Church as they move towards fostering stronger ties with the community.
During the same event, Entebbe Archdeacon, Rev. Canon John Gitta officially launched weekly fellowship at the Police Headquarters, during the the first service he urged Police staff to take up holy matrimony.
Rev. Canon Gitta also appreciated the contribution made by UPPC towards the rebuild drive and said they will return the favor through publishing hymns and scriptures.
Entebbe DPC Vincent Irama lauded the church for always standing with Police and pledged to support the ongoing rebuild ahead of the coral celebrations. During this event Entebbe Police handed over office furniture to the church.
