Lying a few kilometers from Entebbe International Airport, uprightly standing in grandeur, is Hotel Horizon– Uganda’s latest addition on the tourism and hospitality menu. A serene quiet place, yet by the roadside, is undoubtedly the earth’s physical heaven. The hotel services match the splendor outlook, toned in the middle of Uganda’s main gateway- Entebbe.
A couple of security officers, dressed like professional pilots, are always manning the entrance. Welcoming all guests with beaming smiles, one security officer usually helps to carry the guests’ luggage to the reception, while the other stays by the entrance to take care of other incoming.
By the reception, always stand two ladies and one gentleman, don in white and coffee-brown attire- as the signature colours of the hotel. Calmly grinning, the receptionists usher the guests to a soft couch by the hotel entrance.
As one receptionist gets hold of the guest’s luggage, the other is capturing details of the guest as well as explaining the ray of services offered at the 4-star hotel. On the left side of the reception, is a Signature bar and restaurant roofed under a calm and spacious room, by whose walls are pictures of the graceful flamingos- a signal for visitors to stay calm and keep it easy.
Two swimming pools both for adults and children, lay in the clockwise direction of Hotel Horizon. By the pool side, are changing rooms, sauna and a gym which is near completion. Several pool attendants are always on alert, to guide and help incase of any unlikely eventualities.
From the reception, a guest is led to the upper floors of the four-storied magnificent hotel building from which encompass a conference hall that can accommodate up to 100 persons.
Also upstairs is another bar (on the second floor) named Zone 53 Bar and Lounge, plus another one at the rooftop. All such upper floors provide guests with a breathtaking view of not only the beautiful swimming pools, but also the distant galore of every splendid thing endowed to the lake city of Entebbe.
By the balcony and rooftop of Hotel Horizon, one is able to capture the stunning views of lake Victoria, Botanical gardens among other flora of serene areas.
Guests are granted a 360 degree view of the area, while standing at the roof-top. Whereas all types of parties can be accommodated at the facility, the hotel remains in charge of the music, notably the sound, so as not to exceed such volumes that can irritate other guests and residents.
Whereas the Hotel is situated by the roadside, its walls were built with a fine-tuned tone of sound proof, to grant all guests a calm and soothing ambience- free from noise and disorganisation.
Hotel Horizon is one of the artificial marvels ever graced by Entebbe and Uganda at large. The lighting and beauty of the facility during night time, is a mouth-gaping phenomenon beyond description. It has given a positive punctuation to Entebbe’s serenity, beauty and splendor!
