Ugandan World Champion Joshua Cheptegei has this night returned back in the country after his landmark win at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene-Oregon,USA.
Cheptegei was received by officials from the National Council of sports (NCS) and Uganda Athletics Federation at Entebbe International Airport on Tuesday evening.
Other members of the Ugandan cohort are expected to return to the country on Wednesday while others will head to Birmingham in the United Kingdom for the Commonwealth games.
Cheptegei who clinched the World 10,000m gold on 17th July to become the fourth athlete to defend the title.
The other Ugandan medalists are Jacob Kiplimo and Oscar Chelimo who both settled for bronze medals in the 10,000m and 5,000m finals respectively.
