Christians in Kabale district have been urged to intensify their involvement in the recently lauched Gorvernment program, parish development model. “there is need for citizens to embrace government programs like the parish development model if they are to register the middle-income status,” said Mr. Nyakahuma.
The Parish Development Model is a Government strategic approach aimed at organizing and delivering public and private sector interventions for wealth creation and employment generation at the parish level as the lowest economic planning unit so as to build an economically viable Uganda.
Hon. David Bahati who also doubles as the Ndorwa West legislator had been invited as the chief guest for the celebration of the 25th anniversary at Lift Up Jesus’ Church of Global Ministries in Kabale, on Thursday 25th August 2022 but had other errands and deligated Mr.Godfrey Nyakahuma, the Kabale district commissioner.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister, Mr.. Nyakahuma called upon the people of God to embrace government programs and in particular the Parish Development Model, “Please don’t let this opportunity go un utilized, get involved and use this money to attain financial independence”.
He further encouraged Christians to put their faith in action by practicing subsistence farming and educating the public on how they can uplift themselves adding that they should emulate Bishop Aloysius Kiiza.
“The National Resistance Movement appreciates the work done by Bishop Aloysius Kiiza of Lift Up Jesus church. Bishop has been very instrumental in lobbying for and improving lives of people not only in Kabale but the entire Kigezi region through projects like providing shelters for indigenous people and orphans, establishment of schools among others. If we get more hands on the job, it becomes easy and therefore, I implore you to emulate Bishop,” asserted Mr. Nyakahuma.
In his final remarks,Mr Nyakahuma, reminded Christians not to only focus on spiritual development but also better economic transformation as per the ten-point program of building an independent, integrated and self-sustaining national economy.
“An independent and self-sustaining church is critical when it comes to having more religiously authentic individuals and provides a good example for our families and communities. Strong and economically empowered families and communities build self-sustaining national economy.”
Established in 1997, Lift up Jesus’ church of Global Ministries purposes on spreading the gospel of christ world wide and improving the spiritual lives plus bolstering economic growth in Kigezi region. On August 25th 2022, the sanctuary had a Jubilee celebration.
