Buganda King Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II paid a courtesy visit to the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre (UWEC) commonly known as Entebbe Zoo early this month.
The king who first made a stroll around Entebbe Botanical gardens, later visited the animal centre where he was welcomed by Dr. James Musinguzi the UWEC executive director who was flanked by Ssebina Katumba the UWEC board chairperson and David Musingo the manager in charge of Conservation education.
Kabaka Mutebi, together with close family members, fed different animals at the centre including giraffes, elephants, Chimpanzees among others in what is termed as Keeper for a day program. He lauded the UWEC team for keeping the mantle in conserving the flora and fauna, as well as preaching the gospel of conservation.
The King’s visit at Entebbe Zoo comes at a time when the centre is gearing to celebrate 70 years of existence, at a function which will be climaxed on December 2.
After photos of the Kabaka were posted on UWEC social media pages, several subjects have taken to their social media pages and praised the management of Entebbe Zoo and thanking God for the life of their King.
