Dr. Bright Innocent the Kaharo Health Centre III in charge has on 03/11/2022 afternoon been re-arrested on orders of the Kabale Resident District Commissioner Godfrey Nyakahuma over alleged defilement of a minor.
Its alleged that on 26thOctober 2022, Dr Bright cut Rinah Kemigisha’s arm a P7 pupil 11 years a resident of Kashaki A village, Buhara Parish in Buhara subcounty of Kabale district was almost losing her arm following panga cuts that Bright was using to threaten her sexually.
Nyakahuma while speaking to our reporter said that Dr. Bright after committing this incident was immediately arrested but shortly was said to have been released under unclear circumstances saying that it was not in order because the girl was in critical condition and which Nyakahuma termed as injustice blaming the Police for such an act.
RDC Nyakahuma today accompanied by Luben Mutabazi the Kabale District Internal Security Officer further ordered Dr. Bright’s re-arrest, after visiting Kemigisha (the victim) at Our Lady of Good Health Hospital alias Rushorooza Hospital saying that as security authorities shall not allow anyone to abuse the rights of young people
Eveline Neema the enrolled nurse at Our Lady of Good Health Rushorooza Hospital who is attending to Kemigisha revealed that she was brought in much pain since the arm was deeply cut to a half falling down according to x-ray examination giving hopes of recovery and improvement in the near future.
Sonia Komugisha the mother of Kemigisha also told our reporter that it was a Wednesday of 26th October 2022 in the evening her daughter told her that Dr Bright wanted to send her somewhere and which the mother couldn’t stop her since they were family friends.
Komugisha added that she was surprised in a short time to see the daughter coming back crying and bleeding saying its Bright who has cut her arm.
She added that she reported the case at Kabale Central Police Station where Bright was arrested but disappointingly Bright was seen at his home the following day.
