The territorial police in Rubanda are holding two siblings for allegedly murdering their 46 year biological father, African Tindimurekura a resident of kibungo village, Karengyere parish, Muko sub county Rubanda district.
ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson told journalists that on Sunday 04 December,2022 at around 02:00am in the morning, the deceased assaulted his wife identified as Yunisi Nyamishana 32years who had attempted to rescue their son Dismus Byomugabe 18years from being beaten on allegation that he had sold off his father’s saw.
Maate narrated that in the process, Nyamishana sustained an injury on the left eye which required medical attention, but there was no means. This prompted the son one Derrick Tumwesigye 20yrs to sell the father’s hen to take their mother to the hospital.
It is further alleged that on 06/12/2022 at around 10:00pm, when their father came back home, he got annoyed with Derrick and boiled water to burn both Derrick and Dismus as they enter their bed to sleep..
Maate revealed that Fortunately, they got this information from their sister Tumuhekyi Caroline and they struggled to pour the water down which resulted into a fight whereby they hit their father with two big stones on the head around the right ear and he died instantly.
Police at Muko was informed on the 07/12/2022 at around 11:00pm, responded to the scene and was documented, postmortem done and body released to the relatives for burial.
The two suspects were arrested to assist in investigations Inquiries at hand
The case of suspected murder as a results of domestic violence was registered at Rubanda Central Police station under reference number CRB 464/2022
