Entebbe General Hospital Nurse Arrested For Double Rape

Police in Entebbe have in it’s custody a one Kutesa Denis, a male intern Nurse at Entebbe General Hospital over allegations of rape and attempted rape on two female patients at the hospital.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire has confirmed the the arrest and says police is working closely with the Hospital management to ascertain circumstances under which the suspect, Kutesa Denis had the liberty to drug and rape the Victims at the hospital thought to be under strict supervision.

“We would like to inform the public that it is possible there may be more victims of Kutesa Denis’ alleged crimes, and we urge anyone who may have been a victim to come forward and report to the nearest police station.” Adding that, ” We take all allegations of sexual assault very seriously, and we are committed to ensuring that justice is served for all victims.”

Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect identified his victims from the Gynae ward and then drugged them using a substance suspected to be chloroform before raping them. His 3rd Victim resisted being drugged and engaged police.

Policce conducted a search at his hospital residence and recovered chloroform substances, and a letter in which he pleads for mercy and prayers citing his acts of immorality. The authenticity of the letter is yet to be verified.

“We would also like to reassure the public that the safety and security of patients in hospitals are of utmost importance to us, and we will work closely with all stakeholders to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future, The exhibits recoverd will be used for further investigations. ” said ASP Luke Owoyesigyire.

By press time, the hospital administration had not yet availed any press statement to corroborate the information.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned before the Chief Magistrates Court-Entebbe tomorrow for mention of his case.
