Kyagulanyi criticises new opposition block; rallies Ugandans to be vigilant

The National Unity Platform (NUP) principal Robert Kyagulanyi decried what he regarded as shameful bickering between and among the opposition political blocs and political parties. “It is so shameful to the people we represent to see us fighting amongst each other; it shows we are only reduced to the politicians with individual needs and that’s what they hate,” Kyagulanyi lambasted.

This comes after some politicians forming another opposition political block led by Dr. Col. Kizza Besigye. The block which was named People’s Front for Transition, also has other known politicians like Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, Samuel Lubega Mukaaku, Ken Lukyamuzi among others.

Kyagulanyi called upon Ugandans to assertively scrutinise the matters at hand, than enjoying the mess taking place within the opposition political blocks. Speaking to NTV during the morning show, said, President Museveni has reduced Uganda to his personal property.

“A lot is happening and we have to come out and fight for our rights before we are drowned past our sorrows,” Kyagulanyi said. “We just came out of one of the most fraudulent elections Uganda has ever had, but as we speak right now, many of our comrades are in prison for no reason,“ he added.

“The regime has reignited its efforts to suppress voices. Gen Museveni wants to silence everybody. If he cannot compromise you then he will choose to suppress you,” he continued.

According to Kyagulanyi, Politicians that are used to pass unjust laws are usually the first to be victims. The hard speaking legislator warned the leaders that injustice anywhere is a threat to justice every where, noting that, “it will not just end with them eating Museveni’s money but the harvest will meet them.”

“Laws should be drafted to the comfort of people but today it is the total opposite because they are drafted to the comfort of Gen. Museveni and his family. When Gen. Museveni has issues with one leader, it goes down to all of us. The system has been reduced to one individual who wants to dictate about everything in the country,” further expressed Kyagulanyi.
