Ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers in September, Victoria Pearls will kickstart their preparations with the Victoria series.
The second edition of the Victoria Series will get underway from Tuesday, April 18 until April 23 at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
The tournament will see Uganda Cricket Association host four nations namely; Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Even though Victoria Pearls are the hosting team, they are third in the global T20 World rankings behind UAE and Tanzania.
The champions of the first edition, Zimbabwe will not participate in the yet-to-kick-off tournament due to other engagements.
Victoria Pearls defeated Tanzania in December in a tournament played in Nairobi but the neighbours have greatly improved their squad.
Uganda and UAE have met before and the latter was victorious in a warm-up duel at the Global T20 World Cup Qualifiers in 2018.
Uganda has assembled the same squad as that which played the quadrangular tournament in Nairobi.
The hosts will rely on the services of Janet Mbabazi, Immaculate Nakisuyi, Stephanie Nampiina and Cosy Aweko.
Uganda will face a big challenge but one that will mould the ladies to play at their best to qualify for the World Cup this year.
Full Uganda Team: Consy Aweko (Captain), Janet Mbabazi, Evelyn Ayipo, Rita Musamali, Sarah Akiteng, Gloria Obukor, Stephanie Nampiima, Patricia Malemikia and Irene Alumo.
