She Cranes lined up against Men’s side in Preparation game

Uganda She Cranes played men’s national side, The Rock in a build-up game ahead of their participation in two continental tournaments in Windhoek, Namibia.

The first preparation game at the Old Kampala Netball Court ended 41-32 in favor of the Rock.

The women’s netball team will take part in the high-ranking Pent Series and the African Netball Championships starting October 31 to November 5 and November 9-16 respectively.

The She Cranes will be up against South Africa, Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Zambia in both competitions.

According to the team coach Fred Mugerwa, the conditioning earned from playing against Men during the preparations will equip his players the much-needed fitness and agility.

He also revealed that the She Cranes have always been placed against the fast and energetic male team in build-ups and this gives the team an edge over their opponents.

The She Cranes will play one more final build-up game on Friday before announcing the final squad.
