Police in Kabale District are investigating circumstances under which Agricultural officer of Kitumba sub-county in Kabale district died in motorcycle accident at Mwanjari along the Kabale-Katuna highway.
Elly Maate the Kigezi Region police spokesperson identified the deceased as Aharimpisya Jassy, aged 37-years-old, a resident of Nyamweru sub-county in Rubanda district.
The deceased was driving government motor cycle registration number UG 1719R super trail white in colour when he was knocked by Joram Nkwasibwe aged 27years a mukiga by tribe a resident of Rushaki southern division in Kabale municipality with unknown motorcycle
Maate said Nkwasibwe was rushed to Kabale regional referral hospital in critical condition for treatment and management.
Maate told journalists on Wednesday that the accident occurred Tuesday 23/05/ 2023 at about 11:30 pm at Mwanjari along Kabale Katuna highway.
Police was alerted, visited the scene and the body was taken to Kabale referral hospital mortuary for postmortem.
Meanwhile the Motorcycle registration number UG 1719R parked at the police yard pending IOV inspection while the Inquiries are underway to establish the cause of accident.
The Police Spokesperson notes that Case of fatal road accident were registered at Kabale District police station under reference number TAR 62/2023
