Sights and Sounds of Murchison Falls mesmerize Tourists

Over 300 local tourists were treated to both a boat cruise on the source of River Nile and a game drive as they explored Uganda’s biggest national park while experiencing different wildlife species found in Murchison falls national park.

This occured during the “Explore North campaign” that aimed at interesting Ugandans to visit the uniquely prized tourism sites, culture and attractions in the Northern region.

Sarah Kabasindi a tour guide at Murchison falls National Park took a group of domestic travelers on a boat ride with the major aim of viewing the falls from the bottom.

According to Kabasindi, Murchison falls national park boasts of 451 bird species and 76 species of animals.

“The park is also called Kabalega falls national park with it’s uniqueness being the Murchison Falls, where the Victoria Nile River surges through a narrow gap over a massive drop,” she said.

Kabasindi furthermore said the park offers five major activities to the tourists including a boat cruise, game drive, bird watching, chimpanzee trekking as well as hiking mostly around Kaniyo, Pabidi and Rabongo forest.

According to Victoria Nampijja one of the tourism lovers that moved with the group for the first time in an exciting way narrated that it was such an amazing moment viewing the Murchison falls at the nearest points as well as experiencing the unique sounds formed by the waterfalls moving at a highest speed which she said that is a life time experience.

In additional, Chelsea Kobusingye another tourism lover that also moved with the group said that she got a chance of being next to the rainbow and experienceing some water splashes on her body in a point where the guide revealed that it blesses human beings with twins and she’s now urgently waiting for that miracle to happen.

The minister of state for tourism Hon Martin Mugarra Bahinduka encouraged Ugandans to explore the tourism attractions within their vicinity as well as sharing the beauty of the Pearl of Africa
with everyone in their spheres of influence.

Murchison Falls National Park, also called Kabalega Falls National Park or Kabarega National Park, is the largest park in Uganda covering an area of 3840 sq km / 1483 sq miles with various species of wildlife both animals and birds including elephants, buffalos, lions, hippos, giraffe, leopards among others.
