Senegal registered a 3-1 emphatic win against Burkina Faso in the African Cup of Nation at Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium on Wednesday.
This will be their second successive final after meeting Algeria in 2019.
The first chance of the game came from Cheikhou Kouyate who found a rebound but his effort was timely blocked by Edmond Tapsoba.
At half an hour mark, Herve Kofi brought down Kouyate in the area but after the VAR check, central referee Bamlak Tessema Weyesa cancelled the penalty earlier awarded.
With six minutes to end the first half, Edouard Mendy made a sensational save parring away Hassane Bande’s effort from the area.
Senegal had to wait till the 70th minute to take the lead through Abdou Diallo whose rebound off a clearance found the bottom corner of the goal.
Six minutes later, Sadio Mane placed a wonderful pass in the area before it was finished by Bamba Dieng to extend Senegal’s lead.
In the 82nd minute, Issa Kabore pulled one back for Burkina Faso after tapping home Ibrahim Blait Toure’s powerful cross.
But earlier provider Mane turned goal scorer after chipping the ball past Burkina Faso’s custodian Farid Ouedraogo.
The result sends Senegal to the second consecutive finals of the tournament and will meet the winner between Egypt and Cameroon.
