The Aruu falls located 40 kilometers out of Gulu in Pader district is one of the tourists attraction in the country.
The site is set to receive an investment of 800 million Ugandan shillings from the ministry of tourism in the coming financial year 2023/2024.
Funds are expected to boost tourism in the area, to set up safety equipments in the area including safety rails, waiting points, latrines among other facilities.
This was revealed by the minister of state for tourism Hon Martin Mugarra Bahinduka in an engagement with the local leaders during the “Explore North” campaign that started on 30th May – 3rd June 2023 on a visit at this tourism site.
The leaders included the former Aruu county MP Odonga Otto, Pader district LC5 chairperson Fearless Obwoya Oyat, the Cheif Andrew Adebuason, Godfrey Matovu the DISO of Pader, Angagura councilors among others.
The decision follows an appeal by these leaders to the government on the need to develop the tourism site.

Any tourist to Aruu falls should bare it in mind that rocks are slippery as one slopes down and be ready to remove the shoes to be able to cross the river on bare foot as well enjoying the adventure with an amazing memories.
