Rt. Rev. George Bagamuhunda on Tuesday bade farewell to Bishop Barham University College of UCU, Kabale ahead of his retirement due to take place on Friday this week.
Bagamuhunda who has served as bishop of Kigezi Diocese and chairperson of the college governing council since 2014 is set to hand over office and retire on Friday 27th May 2022.
Aggrey Oyesigomwe the college principal indicated how transformative Bagamuhunda’s governance has been to the college and did enable them enhance and straighten business and service delivery in a much more efficient way.
Bagamuhunda joined Uganda Christian University in May 2010 as a member of the university council upon being appointed as the probation secretary of the church of Uganda.
Amos Nomwesigwa the college guild president appreciated the bishop’s hand in facilitating the achievement of financial stability and enabling the success of various college dreams and visions.
Speaking to the college community, the Bishop thanked them for working and serving with him and promised to continuously render assistance whenever required.
Dr. Aaron Mushengyezi the Uganda Christian University Vice Chancellor who mensed the function said that the bishop has done so much in adding value to the institution and Kigezi Diocese.
“We do have leaders who come and leave an institution the way they found it or worse than they found it. Bishop, you are not among those. You have added value and your projects can speak for themselves.” Mushengyezi said.
At the same event, the college unveiled the new principal and the college governing council that are yet to replace Aggrey Oyesigomwe who is expected to hand over office at the end of this month.
