CECAFA: Uganda put thirteen past Djibouti

Uganda U20 side ran riot against Djibouti managing a 13-0 win against a struggling side at FUFA Technical Center in the CECAFA Women U20 championship.

The party started in six minutes, as Hadijah Nandago put Uganda in the driving sit off a great header.

After four minutes, Margret Kunihira placed a low pass that was placed in the net by Fauzia Najjemba.

Catherine Nagadya scored the third after getting the ball past Djibouti’s custodian to look into an empty net.

Najjemba headed home the third shortly before he tapped home the fifth of the day in a space of twelve minutes.

Kinihira was fouled in the box and Nalugya took the penalty ahead of Najjemba who missed one against Burundi.

Najjemba was not yet done with the scoring drill, it took her one minute into the second half to extend Uganda’s lead.

Shakirah Nyigahirwa won a possession battle and pulled off a powerful shot leaving the goalkeeper with less to do.

Left-back Asia Nakibuka laid a cross that was later converted by Hadijah Nandago.

Goal creator Nakibuka turned into the scorer tapping home a rebound that was saved from Najjemba’s header.

Najjemba started a counter-attack and beat her marker to slot the ball past the custodian before he contemplated on the failure of Djibouti’s defence failing to clear the ball which earned her a personal sixth.

Second-half substitute Namaganda sealed the scoring party with a left-footed tap in to bury Djibouti.

Uganda play Ethiopia next on Wednesday.
