The Muslim community in Entebbe concluded the holy month of Ramadan with support, amplified by a wave of goodwill from local leaders who extended goodies.
Former Wakiso and Entebbe Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Rose Kirabira, contributed to the day by delivering a cow and a generous assortment of essential food items ahead of the celebration.

“Having witnessed the daily struggles of many Entebbe residents, particularly those facing economic hardship, I felt compelled to provide tangible support during this sacred celebration,” Kirabira explained.
Kirabira is eyeing the Woman Member of Parliament seat on the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket, setting the stage for a competitive race against incumbent Betty Ethel Naluyima of the National Unity Platform (NUP).
Entebbe Municipality Mayor Fabrice Rulinda continued his tradition of providing meals to the Muslim community during Ramadan. In his address at his Lugonjo residence, he emphasized the virtues of generosity and communal reciprocity.
“Giving back to the community, especially to our Muslim brothers and sisters, is an investment that produces immeasurable blessings,” Rulinda stated.
He also encouraged the Muslims to pursue economic self-sufficiency, urging them to utilise their land resources to cultivate wealth and reduce dependency on external aid, particularly from those with potentially opportunistic motives.

In the same spirit, Shaka Stephen, an NRM parliamentary aspirant and Chairman of the NRM party in Entebbe, contributed a cow and food items.
Ahead of the Eid prayers, he handed over the provisions, requesting the mosque leadership to ensure equitable distribution among all local Muslims. “This contribution is a token of my appreciation and a demonstration of my commitment to serving the community,” he said.
