Explore Uganda: Uncovering Gems of Northern Uganda in Pictures

Following successful local tourism campaigns in Eastern and Western Uganda, at least 300 Ugandan tourism lovers on Tuesday hit the road from Kampala to explore the tourism attractions of the Northern region.

The five-day campaign dubbed Explore North is aimed at promoting tourism in the country and showcasing the tourism potential of the region.

The campaign is spearheaded by the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities together with Uganda Tourism Board, Uganda Wildlife Authority and Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre.

According to Tourism State Minister, Martin Mugarra, Ugandans contribute enormously to the growth of the sector. He further noted that, local tourism lovers have been at the forefront of the tourism sectors recovery from the adverse effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic, having recorded over 800,000 Ugandan tourists in 2022.
