Uganda Martyrs humbled Kawempe Muslim after registering a 3-1 well deserved victory at Lubaga on Wednesday.
Rogers Nkugwa’s charges enjoyed the biggest slice of posession and will feel a little unlucky because the margin would be huger.
In the 14th minute, Anitah Namata beat Asia Nakibuuka with a nutmeg before she pulled off a shot passed Kawempe Muslim’s Juliet Adeke.
Two minutes to half an hour mark, Shakirah Nyinagahirwa went past Esther Namusoke on the left wing before she laid a darling cross in the mix.
Hadijja Nadango met the ball and nodded home past Uganda Martyrs’ Sharon Norah Kaidu who rushed off the line to level matters.
Allen Nasaazi released Samale Nakacwa on the right flank who calm delivered a perfect ball but Sharon Nadunga failed to convert steps away from the goal.
In the second stanza, the hosts looked a better side with great pace and hunger to retake the lead.
In the 55th minute, Catherine Nagadya’s delivery was cleared by Aisha Natongo but it landed on Namata who scored off a powerful rebound to register a personal brace.
Kawempe nearly replied through Nyinagahirwa’s long shot but Kaidu delt with it to deny Halimah Kampi’s rebound.
Later on, second half entrant Latifah Nakasi squeezed the ball through a forest of legs to extend Uganda Martyrs’ lead to three.
The victory takes Uganda Martyrs to the third position with 16 points levelled with Kampala Queens who have a beer goal difference.
