Kampala Queens assistant captain Shamirah Nalugya is confident that her side has kicked off the campaign perfectly and they will not stop any soon.
An English-born writer and novelist Micheal Korda once said, one way to keep momentum going is to have constantly greater goals. And so is Nalugya who has decided to keep her goals high.
“We are six points ahead and not stopping yet,” Nalugya told the press shortly after their win against She Corporates.
Kampala Queens registered a 2-1 well-crafted win against defending champions, She Corporates in the FUFA Women Super League at MUBS, Nakawa.
The home side found the first foot ahead in the game through Favour Nambatya before Resty Nanziri shortly levelled matters with a beautiful strike.
Nalugya later added salt to the wounds of the home side after converting from the spot to beat custodian, Daphine Nyayenga.
“Am very happy about the win. We came here knowing we are facing a champion and the game will not be easy,” she added.
According to Nalugya, it’s only a sprinted fight that could see them pick a positive result from the ‘tough’ MUBS Arena.
“I would like to thank all the players and the technical team for executing the assignment. We are on top of the table and we shall do all it takes to keep the momentum moving,” she concluded.
For starters, this was Kampala Queens’ first win against She Corporates.
