Police in Rukungiri district have in its custody a 19year old herdsman, also a Rwandese national over the alleged murder of a 40 year-old-Woman.
According to ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi region police Spokes person, Emmanuel Miyonsenga, the suspect is being held at Kisiizi police post for reportedly killing one Maria Kabondo a resident of Kasikizi cell, Kisiizi parish, Nyarushanje sub-county in Rukungiri district.
Kabondo’s body was first sighted by Ndazorobera Apurinari with two others who were on their way from Kisiizi police post where they had taken a suspect for stealing matooke, when they came across a naked body of a woman near the gate of Makutano hotel.
The same passersby also managed to identify the cap that was next to the body as that of the Emmanuel Niyonsenga now a suspect.
ASP Maate narrated that after identification of the cap, they moved to Nyabweza’s residence where they they found him hiding in the kitchen without the cap and with blood stains on his hands and head.
A case of murder has so far been registered at Rukungiri Central Police Station under reference number CRB 119/2023 as investigations continue.
