Uganda Youth Soccer Academy (UYSA) Director, Ivan Kakembo is set to graduate with a Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) Diploma in club management in May, 2022.
The graduation follows the successful completion of all requirements to graduate from the FIFA Diploma in Club Management. With 31 participants across the globe set to graduate.
Kakembo is the only Ugandan and one of four Africans that were admitted for the inaugural FIFA Diploma in Club Management.
The diploma will definitely compliment the Ugandan’s expansive sporting knowledge. Over the years Kakembo has earned FUFA and CAF certifications in club administration adding to his background in legal practice.
The one year Diploma is tailored to furnish club executives from all around the world with the latest practical know-how and insights from the industry, covering key areas in the successful management of football clubs.
While speaking to Gateway News, Kakembo said he was elated to complete the course and revealed he was not going to relent in the fight to right wrongs at Uganda’s football governing body, FUFA.
“It’s a plus for Uganda and the entire CECAFA region, the knowledge acquired in this course will be instrumental in shaping the direction of things going forward. I am not going to back down, we must clean our house as football stakeholders, the beautiful game must thrive and we need to dream bigger as a nation.” Kakembo revealed
Kakembo has been at the helm of Uganda’s Premier League sides in the past including SC Villa, URA FC and Nyamityobora where he executed bold changes owing to his vast football knowledge.
