The Kabaka of Buganda, His Majesty Ronald Edward Frederick Kimera Muwenda Mutebi II celebrated Thursday his 68th Birthday in an exclusive event held at his Mengo Palace in Kampala.
In his message, the Monarch called for unity and peace among his subjects. He also urged the populace to be vigilant about their health.
The Katikiro C.P Mayiga welcomes the Kabaka to the event.
The function was graced by leaders from central government, Buganda government, religious leaders and members of the royal family.
The celebrations will be climaxed by the Kabaka Birthday Run scheduled for Sunday 16th April,2023. Thousands of Ugandans are expected to take part in the run.
All the proceeds from the run will be directed to promoting awareness and strengthening the efforts to fight the HIV/ AIDS epidemic in Buganda and Uganda at large.

Kabaka Mutebi II. is the reigning King of Buganda which is the oldest kingdom in Uganda. He ascended to the throne in 1993.
