Mission 4 Water Commissions Borehole to Aid Residents

Residents of Katabi- Busambaga in Entebbe Municipality – Wakiso District have expressed fears of contracting water borne and zoonotic diseases as they continue to sharing the same well with animals.

According to a survey made by Mission 4 Water in Katabi Busamba, only 7% of the household can afford access to clean water out of over 8000 households, leaving majority struggling to access clean and safe water.

In a bid to address this water challenge, Mission 4 Water has donated a newly constructed borehole to aid the community to have some safer water source.

Handing over the borehole, Godfrey Bwandinga the Executive Director Mission 4 Water encouraged the residents to take good care of the borehole and extended total commitment to continue distributing clean water in Uganda.

The residents called on government to render total support to NGOs spearheading the distribution of clean water country wide because scarcity of water in a community if not properly addressed, is likely to cause insecurity as mainly women and children move long distances to fetch water.
