Uganda National Rally Champion, Duncan “Kikankane” Mubiru has unveiled his new car ahead of the East Africa Rally Championship.
Mubiru unveiled his new Ford Fiesta on Thursday during a test match at the Garuga race track, the same ground that is set to host the East African Championship on Easter Sunday.
Ugandan motorcross and rally drivers including Arthur Blick, Ponsiano Lwakataka among others will be going against Kenyan, Tanzanian and other international competitors in the highly anticipated event.
Mubiru told Gateway News that he will be relying on last year’s exploits that earned him the National title to try and win it for Uganda.
“The new car is a bonus and a big boost for our team, we are excited to see the fans and we shall not disappoint on Sunday” Mubiru revealed
The event organisers, Luba Events revealed that also motorcycle-taxi (bodaboda) cyclists will be competing for a brand new motorbike in a special opening race for the revelers.
Speaking on behalf of the organisers, Moses Lubulwa confirmed that they have been able to satisfy all set prerequisites for a successful rally.
