Kizza completes permanent move to Riverhounds

Ugandan forward Edward Kizza has joined Pittsburgh Riverhounds Sports Club on a permanent basis for the 2023 season.

The 24-year-old striker joined the Hounds on loan from Major League (MLS) side New England Revolution last year in July and scored three times in 12 appearances.

The Hounds’ head coach Bob Lilley said was elated by Kizza inking a deal to stay in Pittsburgh where he played College football.

“Kizza brings goal scoring, ideas and mobility up top. He is a forward who works hard for the team, and we are excited to have him back in Pittsburgh for the 2023 USL Championship season,” Lilley said.

Kizza played college football at the University of Pittsburgh and scored 31 goals in three seasons with the Panthers from 2017-19.

He helped his University to their first National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament appearance in 54 years.

The forward started his football career at Kampala-based outfit, Uganda Youth Soccer Academy (UYSA). During his formative years he took part in both local and international competitions.
