Nalukenge banks on club form to spur in CECAFA

Apollon Ladies FC forward Juliet Nalukenge has banked on her mesmerising form at Chrysomolia FC where she was on loan last season in Cyprus.

Nalukenge had a splendid run in the 2021/22 campaign having scored seven goals ending up as the club top scorer in her maiden season.

“I am really delighted that in my first season abroad, I was able to play well despite being on loan at Chrysomalia FC,” she was quoted by the FUFA website.

“I ended the season as the club top scorer with seven goals and this helped me earn a three-year contract at my club Apollon Ladies FC. I believe this will motivate me to even get better next season.”

Nalukenge will be asked to carry his scoring boots to the Crested Cranes camp as they prepare for the CECAFA Women’s Championship and Women Africa Cup of Nation.

“I feel happy to be part of the National Team set up with two tournaments coming up, I can only promise to help the team achieve the set target,” a hopeful Nalukenge opened up.

According to the former Kawempe Muslim forward, her first role is to score as many goals as possible a challenge she is ready to take up as she sets a target of being top scorer in CECAFA.

Uganda will face Rwanda, Burundi and Djibouti in group A of the CECAFA Women Championship which will kick off on on June 1st till 11th.
