Ojok sworn in as new Omoro County MP

A moment of silence has been observed by the members of parliament earlier today during the swearing in ceremony of Andrew Ojok Oulanyah in honour of former speaker the late Jacob Oulanyah who passed on this year on 20th March, 2022

Andrew Ojok has taken his oath as a member of the 11th parliament representing Omoro County at Kololo ceremonial grounds during the state of the nation address.

Ojok was declared as the newly elect legislator for Omoro County on 26th May 2022 where he emerged the winner amongst six other contestants who were vying for the same position with 14,224 votes.

Ojok joins the ranks of other children or siblings who have succeeded their relatives such as Joseph Balikudembe who replaced his late father Patrick Musisi for the Busiro South seat, among others.

This oath has been administrated by the clerk of parliament Adolf mwesiga during the state of Nation address and presided over by Speaker of parliament Annet Anita Among who handed him the constitution of Uganda and rules of procedure of parliament as the norm of his legislator after taking the outh.

Andrew ojok was escorted by his grandfather Nathan Okori, Francis Emuna who is his uncle, Omoro district woman legislator Catherine lamwaka and Chief Justice Alfonse owiny – Dollo.
